Kasey Sumearll, M.Ed

Kasey, our Academic Advisor, has spent the last decade helping learners of all ages build skills, confidence, and independence. Kasey was drawn to the field of education through her passion for helping others learn new skills and discover their strengths. She holds a teaching license and a Master's degree in Education, and her experience spans early childhood education, K–12 classrooms, intervention programs, and adult coaching.

 

Having navigated a nontraditional path through higher education herself, Kasey feels strongly connected to CCT's mission of supporting students in creating educational pathways that work for their unique needs and goals. She believes deeply in the power of shared experiences and has great compassion for individuals who may struggle to fit within traditional educational or career pathways. She is passionate about developing executive functioning skills and empowering students to take ownership of their goals, decisions, and futures.

 

Kasey believes that behavior is a form of communication, and that understanding the function of behavior is an essential component of understanding each learner. She takes a relationship-based approach, striving to see students for who they are and walk alongside them as a collaborative partner in their growth and success. As both an educator and a parent, Kasey values the importance of individualized support, meaningful relationships, and helping young people build confidence in their abilities.

 

Having lived in Bend for the past nine years, Kasey loves taking advantage of everything Central Oregon has to offer. She spends much of her free time exploring the outdoors with her family and friends. Whether mountain biking, climbing, hiking, rafting, paddle boarding, or camping, she enjoys any opportunity to connect with others and enjoy the beauty of the outdoors
