Doug has been on a journey towards mentoring young adults since 2010, when he began taking NOLS courses that combined leadership, communication, decision making and self awareness through experiential education in remote, back country settings. This led him to move to Southern Utah and start a career in wilderness therapy where he combined his wealth of knowledge in the outdoors with a passion for helping others gain perspective on themselves and the world.

Doug believes strongly in the power of relationship and the role it plays in the therapeutic process. He works to help students gain a sense of their own self confidence, honesty, integrity and discipline through conversations and daily activities.

When he is not at work, Doug loves to be outside with his wife. His passion to be in wild and beautiful places has caused him to pursue the mastery of many crafts such as climbing, canyoneering, mountaineering, trail running and split boarding, to name a few. These days you can find Doug running repeats on Mount Bachelor, training for his next ultramarathon or ski adventure.
