John has been working in the Human Services field since 2011, both with adolescents as well as adults. He completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in social science with an emphasis on community leadership, holds a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor level-II (CADC-II), and has Associates of Arts degree in Human Services with a specialty in Drug and Alcohol Studies. John is currently a graduate student being trained in clinical counseling psychology in the depth psychology tradition.
An outdoor enthusiast to the core, John’s passion for life developed in the backcountry and in outdoor recreation. He worked in assisting the Geography Department at his college to develop curriculum and itinerary for field study courses where he co-led field study trips for students. He developed and managed a collegiate cycling team at Oregon State University and has facilitated advanced backcountry expeditions with students here at CCT.
Having had experience with addiction in his youth John knows of the struggles and difficulties young adults face. His life experience drives his passion in helping young adults; John works to facilitate an environment that promotes integrity, compassion, independence, and an enthusiasm for life’s opportunities which is essential to transitional living.
His dog, Luna, is a proud member of our Canine Clinical Team.
