Steve graduated from Northern Michigan University with a degree in Earth Science Secondary Education, accompanied by minors in Biology Secondary Education and Music. After five years of working in wilderness therapy, Steve continued to define his professional niche by completing an extensive academic life coaching course. Before eventually starting his own coaching business, he went on to spend two years as a manager and academic coordinator at a young adult transitional program.

Steve’s enthusiastic and caring personality drives his fine-tuned ability to develop trusting relationships, co-create with others, and make learning fun. By creatively blending teaching and coaching strategies, Steve adds to traditional academic and career advising; he helps people identify what is happening now, what a person wants next, and how they get there. Recognized for his engagement in service, Steve appreciates practicing mindfulness and remembering that the most important people in his life are those that are next to him. When away from the classroom and office, Steve is likely rafting, mountain biking, or skiing.
